Holders of the Engineering Profession Warrant under the Engineering Profession Act (Cap. 321), and listed on the Warrant Holders List published on the Government Gazette of 10th March 2020, should be receiving, or have already received, a circular from the Engineering Profession Board notifying about the process for the election of the 3 board members to be elected from amongst warrant holders.
This election was originally due by end of March 2020, however the Board had informed the Chamber that given the exceptional circumstances of Covid19 and the associated measures taken by start of March, the Minister had granted an exceptional extension of 6 months for the 3 currently elected board members until a proper election process could take place.
Having said this, this call for an election aligns with the above timeline and ensures the election of the 3 board members elected from warrant holders is being carried out within the 6 month extension, and surely by the end of it.
Voting for the elections will be taking place on 31st August 2020 between 15:00 and 19:00 at Boardroom Block A, Ministry for Transport, Infrastructure and Capital Projects. Duly filled nomination forms for the subject 3 seats will be accepted on 17th, 18th and 19th August 2020 between 14:00 and 16:00 in the same mentioned venue.
As the organisation independently representing the engineering profession with authorities, the Chamber encourages all warrant holders to ensure they have received the above mentioned notification and to actively participate in this democratic process to elect representatives of the warrant holders on the Board.
Regulations with regards to the above mentioned election can be found here.
