MEEAs 2013: Seminar on Industrial Excellence

The Chamber of Engineers held a seminar on Industrial Excellence, which took place on Monday 21st October at the Professional Centre in Gzira. During the seminar, presentations from the following leading companies in the local industry were given:

1. Trelleborg Sealing Solutions Ltd.
2. Water Services Corporation
3. Abertax Quality Ltd.

This seminar was organised as part of the nomination evaluation process of the  2013 Malta Engineering Excellence Awards (MEEA) organized by the Chamber. The MEEAs will be held under the Distinguished Patronage of H.E. Dr George Abela, President of Malta on the 29th of November 2013 at the Verdala Palace. The award ceremony commences at 19:30pm sharp. This event is strictly by invitation.

IEEE Malta Seminar: Computing with private data: when cryptography meets signal processing

The IEEE Malta Section held its annual IEEE Distinguished Lecturer talk entitled “Computing with private data : when cryptography meets signal processing”.   This year the speaker iwas Prof. Mauro Barni from the University of Siena.  Further information regarding the talk and the speaker can be found below in this document.

This event was held in collaboration with the Chamber of Engineers on  Wednesday 23rd October 2013 at the Professional Centre, Gzira.   This was be followed by light refreshments.

The Chamber of Engineers together with the Malta Institute of Management (MIM) would like to invite you to an information session on the post graduate programs offered through Edinburgh Business School (EBS).

This session is free of charge for Chamber members.  A fee of 20 euro applies for non members.  CoE members can benefit from a 10% discount on any of the programs if one joins a programme within one month after this info session and a 5% discount if the member joins the programme thereafter.

Visit to Armed Forces of Malta

The Chamber of Engineers is organizing a summer visit to the Armed Forces of Malta at the Maritime Squadron Haywharf Base. The visit will be guided by an AFM official who will showcase and explain various technologies which are interesting to engineers. You are invited not to miss this unique opportunity.

Chamber holds event for Engineering Graduates

The Chamber of Engineers, led by President Saviour Baldacchino, recently welcomed a number of soon to be Engineering graduates for an introductory event to the organisation.

During the event, the role of the Chamber was described, as well the work being carried out by the organisation. Various past experiences were also recalled by member engineers who were also present. In this regard, professional networking was stressed as an important cornerstone of one’s professional life.

Attendees were also given the opportunity to voice any queries they might have. Amongst the questions raised, attendees pointed out the importance of practical training during the summer months. The Chamber stated that it would be looking into opportunities in order for this to be organised.
