Internationally acclaimed award for Maltese Engineer
The Chamber of Engineers would like to congratulate Ing. Dr. Tonio Sant who was recently presented with the “Excellent Young Wind Doctor Award 2008” in Brussels. Ing. Dr. Sant is a lecturer at the University of Malta’s Department of Mechanical Engineering. His research focused on obtaining a better understanding of the aerodynamic behaviour of wind turbines.

In the current global situation and because of the fact that Malta, to date, does not have any natural mineral oil resources, the Chamber of Engineers believes that heavy investments should be made in the areas of renewable energies. Achievements, such as this of Ing. Dr. Tonio Sant, highlight the capabilities that are being developed in this very relevant area.  It is augured that as a Nation we capitalize on the limited resources that are currently readily available, be they human, wind or solar.
